Renting Lakeside
July 27th, 2009 by David

Hey again. Two posts in as many minutes!

I’m  coming down lakeside in mid-August to look for a place to rent for a year.

Judy and I are looking for something in the $650-$800 range, with $800 just a little further than I’d really like to go. We’d love Ajijic of course, but upper Ajijic would be fine, as would some of the other communities lakeside. Maybe San Antonio or San Juan Cosala.  Anybody got any leads or ideas?

Also, how long does anyone think it would take me to find a rental we’d like? I know that sounds like a stupid question, but it would sure help me book the airfare if I knew there were plenty houses on the market, of if there were just a few.

I hope to see you when I get there–

Yes, David, if you do contact Veronica and Victor, please feel free to use our names, Kevin and Beth Leitch. So far they have been great people with whom to work.

My husband and I closed on our house in Ajijic village in July and we hooked up with a property manager to rent and take care of our home there. Verónica Martínez and Víctor Morando operate Roma Property Management in Ajijic. They had our home rented for six months this winter season within three weeks after we closed, so they are excellent on the service to landlord and we’re sure it would be the same if you’re looking for a place to rent. Contact them at Their website is They’re located at Javier Mina #18 in Ajijic. If you don’t see something you like in your price range on their website, contact them. Our house was never even advertised on their website. They are doing a great job of managing some work (painting, custom curtains, etc.) that’s being done right now at our house. We loved our 12 days in Ajijic in July and really loved spending seven nights in our new home; the worst is that we had to come back to Indiana and we’ll have to work for a few more years before we can move there full time. ¡Buena suerte en su aventura mexicana!

I heard that Craig’s List has Mexican house rentals and it gets great responses from it.

Maybe you want to communicate with Elliot in Ajijic?

She’s a very cool person and a realtor. Probably mostly sells houses but could most likely hook you up. Please tell her Nancy sent you!
